This alabaster bas-relief depicts Assyrians climbing a hill. People seem to rush up a wooden knoll, either in fright to get a better view. The hill is crowned by a building, monument, or stela which is decorated with another picture of the royal hunt scene. From Room C of the North Palace, Nineveh (modern-day Kouyunjik, Mosul Governorate), Mesopotamia, Iraq. Circa 645-535 BCE. The British Museum, London. Photo©Osama S.M. Amin.
